GET A PEN AND PAPER FOR THIS ONE…

Feedback is ALWAYS appreciated!LOVE to know that you were here! It feeds my soul! Before you read today’s blog please get a pen and paper or better yet your favorite journal! :)

Good Morning Beautiful ButterflyMoms!

Why did you come here today? Are you bored? Are you looking for inspiration? Are you looking to connect to something with meaning? Every week about 1,000 people, both women and men, come to ButterflyMoms but WHY? Out of all the things you could be doing WHY COME HERE? WHAT ARE YOU SEEKING?

Use your breath here. Really take a veeeeeeeeeeeery l-o-n-g  d-e-e-p breath. Close your eyes and do it again. HEAR YOUR BREATH. How does your body feel? Breathe again. Smile. How does it feel to be noticing what is happening in the PRESENT. If other thoughts come…gently shove them into the closet…just kidding…gently, without judging, release them out the door. If they come back one, two, twenty times, still GENTLY, WITHOUT JUDGEMENT, release them.

In this state, take your pen and paper (no keyboards as they are not as effective because they are so linear and you want more freedom for this than that)…. So in this state take you pen and paper and draw, scribble, write, play on paper for as long as you can. Give yourself at least a good 14 minutes. See what PERCULATES! Your assignment is to do this EVERY DAY this week. If you have a specific life/business issue you are working on use this wonderful accessing gift to see what you cannot see when the noise of the other world is blocking your INTUITION, your inner wisdom!

WHERE’S YOUR HEAD?

Good Morning Beautiful ButterflyMoms!

This morning at 5:03 a.m. my seven-year-old daughter, Mialotta, came downstairs crying from a nightmare she had just had. She does not often have them and this one was a doozy. Initially the more I tried to get her to share what she had seen, the more she resisted. It kind of felt like when you are dealing with a tick, the more you pull to get it off, the more it DIGS IN. Hmmmm… So I had to unearth her ickies in a different way. ACTIVATE INTUITION!

First, I had to get her back to her thinking mode. I took many parenting classes with the wonderful child expert Ellen Kerstein who teaches Conscious Discipline workshops. Ellen taught us that when kids (or adults ;) are having temper tantrums they are COMPLETELY in their brain stem. This is the part of the oldest part of brain (evolutionarily-speaking) where there is no speech. It is all about survival. It is your fight or flight mode. We know someone is in this space when you try to talk to them and they seem to not hear a word you are saying. This is where we as parents are most likely to lose our cool. :( Just so you know, there is absolutely NO WAY to communicate with a child that is in this place. Knowing this little fact helps us be able to RESOLVE, instead of thinking the child is being….(fill in the blank) a) bratty  b) spoiled  c) disrespectful  d) whatever feeling comes up for you.

The best way is to help your child get back to her pre-frontal lobes, the problem-solving part of the brain. This is done through touching and speaking in a soothing voice. Today I rubbed the bottoms of her feet (helps her ground too), held her in my lap and rubbed her back. I could physically see her relax. While I was doing this I was speaking to her. I asked her questions, most of which she initially asked me to repeat because she was so deep into her brain stem. It is all information. If you JUDGE IT you label it. Once you label something you no longer receive information. You ASS-U-ME. (Sound familiar? ;)

All these activities move her into the part of her brain that allows her to CREATE CHOICE. CHOICE is what guides our lives. It is the choice of what we focus on that gives us more of “that”. As you go about your day check in with yourself and see what part of your brain are you in. Notice especially when you are in your brain stem and wondering why you cannot solve the issue at hand.

* On the 10th anniversary of 9-11 we held our first ever ButterflyMoms Healing Share. We had about 30 people including kids…they are the ones who really get this stuff! We even had a 93 year old who had never done anything like this but said, “Hey this feels pretty good!” How cool is that? We collected about nine bags of groceries and will be delivering it to the Holliston Food Pantry this week!  THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED THEIR TIME, SPACE, TABLES, FOOD and LOVE!

10 Years After We All Woke Up Into A Nightmare! (Shifting the Energy of the Horrors of 9-11)

Today we’re doing it a little differently. I’m doing the blog first and then all the amazing stuff that is going on. Let’s try this for a bit and see how it feels…

BOM DIA BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLYMOMS!

There is soooooooo much activity right now going on. The energy is shifting. Can you feel it? How about in the weather? In how you feel lately? In others around you? It is not in your head. Mercury has been in retrograde and it affects us, but beyond that, as a global community there is an event that shifted life just enough to send us in a different direction. I’m talking about the events of 9-11. This Sunday is the 10th anniversary and I don’t know about you, but for most of these things I mean to do something to mark the occasion. Usually it comes out very bland or I don’t know what to do and just end up sad or bottling my feelings. This year it feels different.

It’s different for me because for years and years they have shown the building on fire but never really the people, well this year I saw the photos of the people, who were in such dire straights that climbing out of the window of 100 story building and eventually jumping seemed like a better idea than what was going on inside. It’s easy at this point to STOP BREATHING. It’s easy to get all choked up and turn away. I invite you to stay with these words and notice what you are feeling. What is coming up? Use your breath. STAY PRESENT. NOTICE YOUR MIND TRYING TO PULL YOU. Ground yourself to the earth and feel what you are feeling. Wiggle your “toesies”. Let it pass. Notice it passing. We have a tendency to want to HANG ON, play the movie again and again but let go of that tendency. NOTICE, BREATHE, FEEL, RELEASE, BREATHE, NOTICE… Give yourself these amazing gifts of FEELING what you FEEL and then RELEASING it. AHHHHHHHHHHHH! Do this as many times as you need. Stay with it. Breathe.

Last night at the 15th ButterflyMoms workshop we did a healing-grounding meditation and sent LOVE to all those who were on the building, in the planes and at home waiting to get word, especially the children who lost their parents and the parents who lost their children. (BREATHE) I feel compelled to do something special this year so I have organized a HEALING SHARE which means that if you would like to come get a FREE HEALING (like Massage, Reiki, Full Spectrum Healing) there will be a number of volunteers there who are giving of their time in honor of shifting all the ICKY ENERGY of 9-11 and turning it into HEALING for our communities. Just bring something for the Holliston Food Pantry so that we can PAY IT FORWARD. So far we have people coming from four different States!  Pretty awesome!!!! Details are below. With all these feelings sometimes it helps look around for people who are AUTHENTIC. Why? Because authentic people having nothing to prove. They are just themselves, even if it goes against the grain. Being around them helps you get more in alignment with yourself. There is one woman I would love to introduce you to who has helped me grow in such amazing ways by SIMPLY WATCHING how she is in the world. Her name is Marianne Sage. She is delightful. When I first met her many years ago I did not know how to take her. She said she went mining for crystals in Arkansas and sang to them as she mined them. To be honest she seemed a “little flaky”, just like now I probably seem a “little flaky” to others too! ;) Well over the years she just kept showing up in my life and I started to let my guard down. I’m soooooo thankful I did. Now that I do Reiki, crystals are a very important part of the process because it further MAGNIFIES THE ENERGY. You can do a more powerful healing if you are using them. Sage is an expert in them! She loves these crystals. She respects them. Last week she held one up and said to my children, “Do you know these are older than dinosaurs?” Their eyes got really big! (mine did too!) She said that crystals are between 300-500 million years old! UH HELLO! That is half a billion years and you are holding it in your hands!!!! Hearing her speak is incredibly humbling and powerful! It is the respect for Mother Earth that Sage carries in her soul! She exudes it! She carries her passion on her sleeve! It is amazing to witness…but you only get to see it if you have your walls down. Once or twice a year this grandmother mines these amazing crystals. She lives her passion by mining these incredible gifts while singing to them. (Sage has an amazing voice! She used to sing in England.) WOW! Not conventional but AUTHENTIC! In total alignment with her purpose! I’m sooo happy to let you know that if you want to meet Sage you can do so at our next ButterflyMoms workshop! Yay!

Here’s to living the most AUTHENTIC week you can! GROUND YOURSELF!!!!!

*Filmed my interview with DreamFactory guru Nancy Cantor at the Ashland Cable Studios. What a wonderful bunch of people there who LOVE what they do! It will air in Ashland and Framingham to promote my talk on September 15 at the DreamFactory luncheon. (I hope you come to it because it will be AWESOME!) GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLYMOMS!

Our ButterflyMoms group yesterday was simply magnificent! There are few places on this planet where you can feel safe enough to ask those questions and share those parts of you where you feel stuck. The shifts that are happening are incredible and I’m honored to be a part of it. SHIFTS….hmmmm, have you noticed any lately? In the weather perhaps? In your life? In the world? In your kids? In your friends? Are you noticing the little and big SHIFTS that are going on?

For THOUSANDS of years human beings basically learned by REPEATING what their parents did and for thousands of years this worked. Those who strayed from the status quo had no protection from their tribe and did not usually fair so well.

About 200 years ago things started to SHIFT but were still grounded in the “old ways” of doing things. You did start seeing some rips on the fabric though.

As you start moving closer to 100 years ago the speed of SHIFT started to increase at a more rapid pace.

I was born in 1967 (I love that year!!!) and, in general, for everyday people there were no computers we used at home, no cell phones, no electronic games, nada. In 4th grade a student’s “reward” for doing something extraordinary was to get a 15 minute pass to go to the library to play with a large domed calculator (there was a blue one and a yellow one)… and we all thought that it was sooooooo awesome! By 6th grade we were exposed to a computer that took up a whole room and you had to program it to play games or do those long HAPPY BIRTHDAY BANNERS (which everyone thought was sooooooooo cool, at the time!)

By the time I got to my freshman year at Boston College in 1985 it was mandatory that everyone have their own computer. Today my 2ndgrader pocket she carries technology in her DS that completely dwarfs the technology of my freshman year computer! And phones in general, we don’t even need to go there! No matter how young/old we are we have seen large differences even in our own lives in terms of technology.

Another area of SHIFT has been around the weather. For those of us on the east coast, ENTER IRENE. That is my mother’s mother’s name so I have a special love for it! This storm was spectacularly different from any storm I have ever heard about. It hit the WHOLE east coast and in a way that way quite odd. Even Vermont got affected. You hear about natural disasters in Florida, Louisiana, California….but VERMONT? Really? Come on now? Plus we lost power for 24 hours our neighbors (two houses away) did not have electricity for days, some people in our small town of 14,000 still don’t have power and will not until at least a few more days. (How they still manage to be on Facebook is kind of funny…where there is a will…) Some had trees hit their houses, some had flooded basements, some nothing happened at all. It was all a big, interesting NOTICING of how different this storm was and how it affected how we had to SHIFT our every day habits.

Another SHIFT is in the ROLES WE CHOOSE to live. Growing up we were fed a healthy diet of “your prince charming will come and save you”, now my kids (3 girls and a boy) are being brought on a diet of “Shrek 1, 2, 3 and 4” where Prince Charming is a bit of an arse and the guy who everyone avoided, was the real “prince”.

SHIFTS are emerging everywhere. Within our lives we have stages so we have ALWAYS seen SHIFTS but these are different. We as a species are shifting. The best-selling author and teacher Carolyn Myss says that we are in the process of evolving into a new species, from human beings into our next level of evolution. WOW! DEEP BREATH.

As things SHIFT some will try to hang on to what they know. Things (like diapers) and people (like some friends) are in our lives for a certain period of time and when that period is over things SHIFT. As “they” say SHIFT HAPPENS. You get to decide whether you are going to RESIST or FLOW with that SHIFT…DANCE OR FIGHT with that SHIFT….either is fine but the key is to be PRESENT enough to know that the decision is yours to make. MAKE IT WITH TOTAL PASSION!
